a dance piece by Adam Linder
Early Ripen Early Rot observes the body as material that has a decompositional desire of its own. This performance which features a solo dancer and two musicians is a sight-seeing tour of physical landscapes; the witnessing of a body drawn toward decay. Within contemporary culture the phenomenon of wasting has evolved to something of quasi-religious status, a faith of self-obliteration. In his first feature length performance, Linder is embodying the sensations that defy self-preservation.
