Golden Gate Club

It's a small dark club / space under the S-Bahn near Jannowitzbrücke Station. It used to be illegal. Always really crowded, hot, dancy dancy....there are a lot of afterhours happening. Mainly electronic music.

Villa

Not-so-official club in a kind of haunted house. Electronic and old school sound. One of "the" places right now. 3 floors and you can have one of your best Berlin party experiences here.

Raum 18

Raum 18 is a pretty new event location in Neukölln near Sonnenallee station. It's a little bit far south but because the parties are very good there is always a nice mix of people. Kreuzberg and Neukölln kids meet the Mitte Prenzlauer Berg people. the space itself has 4 rooms in an old Factory building. quite rough, a real Berlin venue,

A smaller brother (or sister) of the huge Berghain, usually hosts smaller events, live concerts, electronic acts.

Kato

Kato is to be found in the building of working U-Bahn Station Schlesisches Tor in Kreuzeberg. Luckily, here you don't listen a train noise but only rock one.
Mainly in Kato play heavy bands - hardcore, metal, emo except ska and reggae sometimes.
Club is open only for concerts or rather special parties.

Columbia Club

Berghain Panorama

A huge club behind Ostbahnhof is perhaps the craziest place in West Berlin. The parties usually start to pick up from 6am, and it's not uncommon to see people fucking in the dark rooms downstairs. The music is mainly tech house and electro, the entrance is 13€.

SO36

A legendary Berlin live music venue, was famous back in the 80s for hosting lots of then new German new wave and punk concerts. Nowadays it's not as punk as it used to be, but still attracts quality live acts and organizes theme events.

Scala

The favorite hangout for Berlin fashion kids. Opened by the same team who was behind the legendary Rio club (now defunct), Scala sometimes hosts good concerts and generally a safe place to go out on a weekend, guaranteed fun, but not more.

The legendary Berlin techno club was re-opened in 2007 and is here to stay. A huge location at an industrial estate between Mitte and Kreuzberg, near other popular clubs, such as Watergate and Bar 25. Large dancefloors, impressive sound system and light shows.

A popular Prenzlauerberg club located next to Kulturbrauerei, hosts popular Berlin Hilton gay parties every Wednesday.

Watergate

The main club in Berlin for minimal house and tech house, featuring the best local and international acts and DJs.

The queue on Friday and Saturday night may be quite long, but it's worth it: inside you've got two levels, beautiful huge windows on Spree river, and one of the best sound in the city.

Schwuz
